POSITION OPENING
BUS DRIVER SUBSTITUTES
Qualifications: 1. High School Diploma or GED.
2. Positive attitude.
3. Strong positive belief in the ability of all students to learn and grow.
4. Able to follow directions for the direct supervision of students.
5. School/children-related experience, preferred.
Terms of Employment: Hours and days will vary according to busing needs.
Reports To: Transportation Supervisor
Performance Responsibilities:
1.
Obeys
all traffic laws and considers safety #1 priority.
2.
Observes
all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
3.
Maintains
discipline when students are on bus.
4.
Reports
undisciplined students through established procedures.
5.
Dependable
and on time.
6.
Transports
only authorized students unless student is accompanied by a note.
7.
Completes
daily log forms and other required paperwork accurately and promptly.
8.
Reports
all accidents and completes required reports.
9.
Conducts
thorough pre-trip and post-trip bus inspection to ensure all parts are
operating and bus is safe.
10.
Operates
two-way radio and cell phone as needed.
11.
Notifies
proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
12.
Exercises
responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips.
13.
Maintains
fuel and oil levels in bus.
14.
Attends
meetings and inservice training as required.
15.
Conducts
all affairs in accordance with applicable school board policies; administrative
rules and directive; state and federal laws, rules and regulations or pertinent
funding agencies; and terms of applicable individual and master contracts. Is courteous, tactful and discrete in all
human relations matters, giving the best possible impression of the
administration, school district, board of directors, staff, students and
patrons not only during work hours but at all times.
